Welcome to APNNO 2018!
With the expansion of horizons of nutrigenomics and nutrigenetics, their importance continues to grow. Asia-Pacific Nutrigenomics and Nutrigenetics Organization (APNNO) was established in 2014 by the effort of its founding president, Prof. Michael Fenech (Australia) and with the support of key prominent scientists from the Asia-Pacific region. Its inaugural meeting was successfully held in 2016 in Korea (Gyeongju) chaired by current APNNO president Prof. Young-Joon Surh (Korea). The meeting gathered hundreds of esteemed researchers and student participants from Asia-Pacific region, which reflects increasing attention to the field of nutrigenomics and nutrigenetics.
It is my greatest pleasure, in my role as president-elect, to announce that the second APNNO conference will be held at the Ito International Research Center, Tokyo, Japan on 2-4 December 2018. The venue is a newly developed facility on the campus of a long-established university, The University of Tokyo. At the season of the year, people can enjoy glorious scenery of golden gingko trees on campus. Participants can also experience the mixture of modern and traditional aspects of the metropolis, Tokyo, which is under rapid renovation in preparation for the 2020 Olympic/Paralympic games.
The theme of APNNO 2018 is “Nutri-genomics/genetics for Precision Health in Multicultural Aging Populations - Profiling Differences, Discovering Possibilities”. The scientific program features keynote lectures, symposia, workshops, luncheon seminars, selected oral presentations, and poster presentations. Papers presented at the APNNO 2018 will be considered for publication in a special issue of NUTRIENTS (IF 4.187).
We cordially invite you to actively participate in APNNO 2018 and look forward to welcoming you in Tokyo in December. We are sure that APNNO 2018 will be a great opportunity for all of you to gain leading-edge information, build networks with other researchers in the field of nutrigenomics and nutrigenetics, as well as implement new platforms for communication and collaboration.
